Low Testosterone: Evaluation & Treatment
Low testosterone (hypogonadism) is confirmed with lab testing before any treatment conversation, because symptoms like fatigue, low libido, and reduced strength have many causes. When treatment is appropriate, we offer testosterone replacement by topical gel pumps or intramuscular injections, administered in our office or, if you prefer, we teach you to self inject safely at home.
Therapy is monitored, not just prescribed. We track PSA, a complete blood count to watch for excessive red blood cell production, and related hormone levels that testosterone therapy can affect, and we calibrate your dose by drawing both peak and trough levels, per evidence based medicine, so treatment is measured by its actual effect rather than guesswork.
If you are trying to have children, standard testosterone replacement can suppress fertility. For these patients, and for men who prefer to avoid injections, we offer enclomiphene citrate, an oral, non steroidal selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that stimulates your body’s own testosterone production through hormone mediated action, appropriate when the testicles retain the capacity to produce testosterone with that nudge from therapy.
One Honest Visit a Year
Most of men’s preventive health fits into an annual exam done thoroughly. If it has been years since your last physical, that is normal, and fixable in about an hour. Book online or call; same week appointments are usually available.
